WWE Hall Of Famer Mike Tyson To Make Shock Boxing Return
Mike Tyson is set to return to the boxing ring against the brother of a top WWE star.
Mike Tyson will step into the ring for the first time since 2020 to take on Jake Paul, brother of WWE United States Champion Logan Paul. Netflix announced that they were teaming with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions brand to produce a “boxing mega-event” that will take place on July 20th, 2024 in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The streaming giant will also be the exclusive platform for watching the fight.
Despite Paul being almost 30 years younger than the 57 year-old Tyson, the Baddest Man On The Planet is confident his experience will be enough to not only overcome the Problem Child, but “finish him.”
“[Paul has] grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.
“It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him.”
Meanwhile, Paul is looking forward to testing himself against Tyson, only four years after being on the undercard for Tyson’s last bout.
“It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons.
“Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world — a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.”
Mike Tyson Has Previously Called Out Logan Paul For WWE Match
Although he’s now facing Jake Paul, back in 2023, Mike Tyson said he would “kick Logan Paul’s ass” for free in WWE. Despite this, he also praised the star, saying he always stuck up for Paul when people criticised him because he feels partly responsible for giving him the platform to reach the levels of success he has.
