WWE Hall Of Famer Criticizes Pat McAfee On Raw Commentary

Pat McAfee

WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray has revealed his disappointment at the performance of recently returned Raw commentator Pat McAfee.

Former Indianapolis Colts star McAfee made a surprise return to the commentary booth ahead of the 2024 Royal Rumble, with the company announcing his permanent return to the announce table following a reshuffle that saw Kevin Patrick depart the company.

McAfee had earned rave reviews for his initial stint broadcasting SmackDown after joining the blue brand in April 2021. The 36 year-old would also battle both Austin Theory and Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38 before taking a hiatus from WWE to host ESPN’s College GameDay.

Despite the positivity surround McAfee’s recent return, WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray has revealed that he is less than impressed with the work of the former NFL kicker in recent weeks.

Speaking during an appearance Busted Open Radio, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion stated that McAfee was trying too hard to force things on commentary:

“I don’t know about Pat lately,.You know, people were b******g about Tony Romo on the last play of the Super Bowl, talking over, who was it? Jim Nantz? Talking over him. It’s almost like I feel [that] lately McAfee is throwing stuff in there where it doesn’t belong.

He’s forcing stuff, and I never felt that way about Pat before.”

Pat McAfee Responds To Recent WWE Commentary Criticism

Pat McAfee has offered a realistic reaction to critique of his work since returning.

Speaking on a recent edition of The Pat McAfee Show, he admitted that he would need some time to brush up on his work after spending months away from the announce desk.
