REVEALED: WWE Cut “So Much Time” From High-Stakes SmackDown Match
A legendary WWE tag team revealed that a recent match had its time cut during a live SmackDown broadcast.
On the March 20th edition of WWE SmackDown, The Bella Twins challenged the Irresistible Forces team of Nia Jax & Lash Legend for the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
In a match that went about 11 minutes, The Bella Twins won by disqualification when Charlotte Flair (who was at ringside with Alexa Bliss) attacked Jax to cause the DQ finish.
While speaking on the Nikki & Brie Show podcast, The Bella Twins duo of Nikki & Brie Bella revealed that their match time was cut, and they seemed frustrated by it.
Brie: “Can I tell everyone why we didn’t do our backflip in?”
Nikki: “We just had so much time cut.”
Brie: “-that we, you pick and choose, but don’t worry, you’re gonna see it this Friday.”
Nikki: “I know people thought Brie may have forgot, but we just, that’s why they didn’t even do the title announcements. I know you were like ‘I think we do have time for the backflip’.”
Brie: “I felt like we did.”
Nikki: “I just, I always, when I backflip, I celebrate, I like to take the moment to celebrate. Anyways, long story short, you’re just in those moments when minutes are getting cut and you’re just like ‘how do we just get this started?’
Brie: “But, I will do it for all of you this Friday.” (h/t Wrestletalk)
