WWE Clash of Champions: Gold Rush 2020 Results

This is a post that will have the results for the WWE Clash of Champions: Gold Rush pay-per-view that takes place tonight on WWE Network. It is not the detailed TJR review of the show. You can check out the full, detailed TJR review of Clash of Champions right here. That was written after the show.

Two matches originally scheduled for the show will not happen. Here’s the explanation from WWE:

Bayley will address the SmackDown Women’s Championship situation tonight on WWE Clash of Champions with her opponent unable to compete.

Nikki Cross, who was scheduled to challenge for the title, is not medically cleared.

Additionally, Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax are not medically cleared and will not defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Riott Squad tonight. The situation surrounding the titles will be addressed tomorrow night on Raw.

It could be Covid-19 related but that’s not known right now. It doesn’t mean those individuals have it either. There’s the contact tracing aspect and other things involved too.

Here are the results.

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Lucha House Party (Kalisto and Lince Dorado) to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. That was the lone Kickoff Show match. It went 10:45.

Sami Zayn defeated Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles in an incredible Ladder Match to win the Intercontinental Title. It went 26:35.

Asuka defeated Zelina Vega to retain the Raw Women’s Title at 7:05.

Bobby Lashley defeated Apollo Crews to retain the United States Title at 8:15.

The Street Profits defeated Andrade and Angel Garza to retain the Raw Tag Team Titles at 8:10. Andrade kicked out of a Dawkins spinebuster, but the referee counted to three. Clearly, Andrade kicked out in time. However, it appears that Angel Garza suffered an injury because he was being looked at by doctors outside the ring after the match, so that’s why the match ended early.

Bayley defended the Smackdown Women’s Title against Asuka and was disqualified after hitting Asuka with a chair at 3:45. That means it’s a DQ win for Asuka, but Bayley keeps the title. After the match, Sasha Banks attacked Bayley with a steel chair and kendo stick with Bayley retreating to end the segment.

Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match to retain the WWE Title at 21:35. During the match, Orton was attacked by Big Show, Christian and Shawn Michaels while Ric Flair showed up to drive the ambulance away.

Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso to retain the WWE Universal Title at 22:55. Reigns hit Jey with the Spear multiple times, but he refused to cover. Roman wanted Jey to call him his Tribal Chief. Jey didn’t want to and then Jimmy Uso went to the ring with a white towel. Reigns repeatedly punched Jey, so Jimmy threw in the white towel to say that Jey gave up and that was the end of the match. The show ended with Jimmy telling Roman he was the “Tribal Chief” as Roman wanted.

Clash of Champions had a runtime of three hours.
