WWE Wanted Liv Morgan To Obsess Over 38-Year-Old Star: “They Chose Me”
Liv Morgan recently opened up about how she had to obsess over this wrestler at WWE’s demand.
Liv Morgan has made a name for herself in WWE and has a major fan following.
Her brand of heel work and intensity has won over the hearts of many fans and critics. She is currently part of the heel faction Judgement Day on Raw and is in a storyline relationship with factionmate Dominik Mysterio.
Morgan won the 2026 Royal Rumble match and became the #1 contender for the Women’s World/WWE Title at WrestleMania 42. Morgan chose Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer to be her opponent, and the two have been feuding and brawling it out since Morgan hit Vaquer over the head with a microphone when she chose her over WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.
Morgan’s character is a bit crazy and obsessive by nature, and her on-screen relationship with Dominik Mysterio showcases just that. Morgan always behaves as if Mysterio is her most prized possession and stops at nothing to praise him or show him off.
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Morgan brought up a similar obsessive role she had to play back during her time working with WWE’s developmental brand NXT.
Liv Morgan Was ASked To Obsess Over Tyler Breeze In WWE NXT
Morgan climbed her way up the ranks in WWE from NXT, and those humble beginnings involved doing what her current character only hints at. Despite her storyline relationship with Dirty Dom, Morgan is very much a solo wrestler who can hold her own in the ring and on the mic.
Van Vliet asks Morgan during her interview about her time in NXT, particularly when she once had to act like a crazed fan and jump on wrestler Tyler Breeze.
Van Vliet:I feel like fans are so used to seeing you in this role now, but if we go back to your NXT debut, Tyler Breeze is making his entrance, and you’re a crazed fan who jumps out and jumps on him.
Liv Morgan: I guess I’ve always been a little bit crazy, huh?
Van Vliet proceeds to ask Morgan about her gimmick at the time, to which she says there was none since it was her very first feature on WWE TV.
Van Vliet: What was your gimmick even at that time?
Liv Morgan: I don’t think I had one. I think that was my very first feature on WWE TV, and I think they just wanted to have someone obsess over Tyler Breeze, so they chose me and I was like, okay. It was just very, we’re gonna give you a little spotlight on this takeover I just started.
I probably was there for like, two months maybe. So I was surprised. I was like, okay, yeah, I totally will do it. I just got a phone call while I was at home, ‘Come to rehearsal,’ and I was like, why? And they’re like, ‘We have something for you.’ I was just like, okay, and it was just that. Then I think I was also in his entrance a couple of months later.
