This WWE legend says that Vince McMahon could return for WrestleMania 42.

WWE has been receiving negative press lately, with fans and critics frustrated over the product and how the booking for WrestleMania 42 has been done.

Triple H and co in creative have been under fire since last year’s WrestleMania, which saw rapper Travis Scott get involved in the main event between John Cena and Cody Rhodes in what was one of the most ill-received celebrity involvements in WWE’s history.

Other major criticisms include John Cena’s heel turn followed by a sudden face turn, the ending of Cena’s retirement tour with him tapping out to Gunther, the main event builds so far for WrestleMania 42, and the latest reveal of Pat McAfee as Randy Orton’s mystery caller.

One of the people who was predicted as being the mystery caller on Randy Orton’s storyline was former WWE CEO, Vince McMahon.

Although Vince McMahon is still facing a sex trafficking and assault lawsuit from former WWE employee Janel Grant, a case which has had new filings by Grant on April 1st revealing more details about McMahon’s actions, some fans, analysts and former wrestlers are under the belief that McMahon could show up at WrestleMania 42 or that he could be involved by WWE to solve its current creative crisis.

Surprisingly, one person who wholeheartedly believes Vince McMahon could be part of proceedings at WrestleMania 42 is the voice of wrestling himself, Jim Ross (JR)

Jim Ross Believes Vince McMahon Will Be Involved In WrestleMania 42

On his podcast, Grilling JR, the former WWE legend gave his opinion when asked if Vince McMahon could be coming back to WWE after he stepped down from his position a few years ago following the sexual harassment scandals.

JR didn’t hesitate to say that he believes in the old saying that when there’s smoke, there’s fire, and since there has been talk about McMahon in WWE of late, he feels that the former wrestling mogul will definitely be involved in WrestleMania 42, at least creatively.

Yeah, absolutely no doubt about it. I don’t even have a question in my mind where there’s, you know, it’s the old cliche, or there’s smoke, oftentimes there’s fire, and there’s been a lot of smoke regarding VKM in WWE, and what his future may or may not be, and how he can still contribute.

This can still contribute. He’s a big picture guy, and that takes a lot of detail work and planning, but he can do that. He can make all that happen. And you know he’s hungry, so we know he’s in the kitchen. So I don’t think there’s any doubt in my mind that Vince will be instrumental in this year’s Wrestlemania as far as creative is concerned.

JR was further pressed about the matter and was asked if Vince McMahon was already influencing the goings-on for WrestleMania 42. Ross says that McMahon’s involvement will become visible soon and that his fingerprints can be seen in angles and matches come ‘Mania, even if Vince isn’t fully hands-on at the moment with creative.

Oh, yeah. He’s not going to wait on anything. He’s not going to, as John Wayne would say, we’re burning daylight. Something’s going to happen. I believe that McMahon will have the will to contribute to this year’s WrestleMania… I just think that he’s going to be involved in WrestleMania in some shape, form or fashion.

That’s not a disrespect to Triple H’s team and all that at all. It’s the fact that you got the most successful pro wrestling guy in history who’s available. Absolutely, absolutely. They would not be good businessmen if they weren’t willing to entertain that idea.
