Why Ex-WWE Champion Can Use Name Outside Wrestling
A former champion in WWE is able to use his trademarked name outside of the company for a unique reason.
Braun Strowman was shockingly released by WWE in May 2025, as part of the post-WrestleMania cuts. It was a shock because Strowman was cut once before in his WWE career, then he was brought back and let go again.
After his release, it was reported that part of the reason he was let go was his high salary and the more serious injuries he was dealing with than were known.
During his nearly decade-long WWE career, Strowman became a main-event star, a former Universal Champion, and the holder of numerous other titles.
While he was still working with WWE, Strowman signed a deal with USA Network for a traveling eating show called “Everything On The Menu with Braun Strowman,” which was produced by WWE and Bright North Studios. The show aired in the fall of 2025.
The good news for Strowman (real name Adam Scherr) is that “Everything On The Menu” was picked up for a second season by USA Network. The first season featured eight episodes and was a huge hit among the fans, prompting the network to renew the show for another season, which will feature 12 episodes.
Even though he is no longer Braun Strowman in a WWE ring, Fightful Select reports that the company is allowing Strowman to use that name for the show since “Everything On The Menu” is a USA Network show, and the company works closely with the network because that’s where SmackDown airs. There could be a change for season two when it airs, but for season one, WWE had no problem with it.
Braun Strowman’s Post-WWE Career Is Going Well
Considering WWE brought him back the first time after being released, it’s always possible that Braun Strowman could return someday in the future, or perhaps work for another wrestling company. For now, Braun Strowman told USA Network that “Everything On The Menu” is life-changing for him.
“I’ve been so blessed to perform in front of massive crowds over the years, but getting the chance to travel the country, sit with people at their tables, hear their stories, and taste the meals that mean the most to them has been life changing.
I know fans know me from the ring, the ‘Monster Among Men,’ but this experience has let me show the world who I really am, and I’m a big softie on the inside. I’m humbled and incredibly grateful that I get the chance to do what I love and hopefully put a bunch of smiles on peoples’ faces, and food in their belly, along the way.”
