Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins confirmed that a big name in WWE has actually retired.

In 2025, the WWE Universe witnessed two names retire: Bill Goldberg and John Cena.

Now, in 2026, it seems that the retirements have begun. AJ Styles supposedly had his final WWE match at Royal Rumble 2026 against Gunther in a singles match.

Seth Rollins confirmed that AJ Styles has retired

The Visionary has been absent from WWE TV since Crown Jewel. He suffered an injury during his match against Cody Rhodes. He had surgery and is on his recovery journey. Now, he is due for a return ahead of WrestleMania 42.

Recently, he had an interview with Club Shay Shay, and Seth Rollins spoke about his Mt. Rushmore of wrestling. He included names such as Ric Flair, Eddie Guerrero, and Shawn Michaels. He also mentioned AJ Styles, and confirmed that The Phenomenal One has retired.

I’d like to be in the conversation at some point. I think AJ Styles, who also just recently retired, is someone who’s one of the greatest of all time in the ring. It’s a fun discussion, but it’s hard to narrow it down.

AJ Styles has kept the door open to returning for another match if his son decides to become a pro-wrestler and he has the opportunity to tag team with him once!
