WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Frustrated By Having Words Twisted
As a top name in WWE, Cody Rhodes possibly needs to be careful about what he says in interviews, lest it be taken out of context.
More often than not, WWE superstars’ names can be used for engagement on the internet, given their fame.
Cody Rhodes opened up about having words twisted
The American Nightmare appeared for an interview with Chris Van Vliet. During the conversation, he revealed that sometimes smaller clips of bigger interviews go viral because they portray the situation differently. So, when he looks at the smaller clips, he realizes he did say it but the bigger interview was different.
The clips can be the death of some talent. Remember when we had that great conversation with that youth center? I thought it was a great podcast and I didn’t say anything dumb. Then the clips come out and I’m like, ‘Oh no, I did say that.’
It’s the nature of media today. If you’re going to do what we’re doing today, like I’m doing interviews, then you can’t get upset when something is taken—I don’t want to say out of context because you might have said that—but outside of the conversation it’s always different.
The other day I said something like, ‘Oh, people check their phones after their matches. Every wrestler checks their phones.’ I was obviously being heavy-handed.
Then I saw one of my favorite articles that said, ‘Cody Rhodes’ secret about all wrestlers.’ I thought, ‘Man, I don’t know if you needed to word it that way,’ but that’s just the nature of doing media. You might not like everything you hear back. [H/t: Ringside News]
