Is WWE Worried About Fan Reaction To Cody Rhodes’ Title Win?
Cody Rhodes dethroned Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
The victory guaranteed The American Nightmare’s spot on the WrestleMania 42 card.
However, fans are not happy with the fact that Drew McIntyre was removed from the world title picture at WrestleMania 42.
WWE’s reaction to the backlash Cody Rhodes is facing
The Stamford-based promotion often keeps a check on fan reactions to decide whether a creative angle should move forward.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE has noted the criticism and backlash after Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre, but the company is not changing the direction for WrestleMania 42.
No real backlash. People backstage aren’t really displeased that Cody Rhodes is back on top, the guy who’s led the company for the past couple of years.
Furthermore, it was explained that the talent has no say over how the company will go forward with a creative direction.
It’s not on the minds of any of the talent at all to have an opinion on who should be champion and how WWE books it. [h/t: Ringside News]
So far, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton is confirmed for WrestleMania 42. On the other hand, Drew McIntyre might go up against Jacob Fatu at The Show of Shows.
