WWE’s 3 Candidates For Gunther WrestleMania 42 Match
WrestleMania 42 is only six weeks away, and WWE has yet to decide who will be Gunther’s opponent this year.
The Ring General recently ended a high-profile feud with AJ Styles when he retired The Phenomenal One at the WWE Royal Rumble.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is currently planning for the former World Heavyweight Champion to face one of three potential opponents at WrestleMania 42. Either it will be Brock Lesnar, Oba Femi, or Rey Mysterio.
The 38-year-old star got involved in a feud with Dragon Lee after he retired AJ Styles. They even squared off on Raw this week. Lee has a connection to Rey Mysterio. Hence, Mysterio is one of the potential opponents.
WWE Hasn’t Decided On Gunther’s WrestleMania 42 Opponent Yet
Then there is Oba Femi, who recently joined the main roster and is eager to make a name for himself. The two juggernauts fighting each other inside the ring would complement each other very well.
And then there is Brock Lesnar versus Gunther, which has been a potential matchup for many years. There have been rumors that the dream matchup might actually happen this year.
Additionally, The Ring General was thrown out of the building before The Beast Incarnate laid out his open challenge on WWE Raw, which, according to the report, was planned intentionally.
“Plans for GUNTHER at WrestleMania are undetermined. They’re not sure which direction they’re going to go. It could easily be Rey Mysterio, especially with the Dragon Lee situation going on.
GUNTHER vs. Oba Femi is also a possibility. WWE did make it a point to throw GUNTHER out of the building before Brock Lesnar had his open challenge. At this point, GUNTHER’s three options are Rey Mysterio, Oba Femi, or Brock Lesnar. It’s up in the air.”
