“Somebody Would’ve Been Fired” – WWE Blasted For Royal Rumble Botch

wwe royal rumble 2026

While both Royal Rumble matches on Saturday were entertaining, they were not flawless.

The 30-person over-the-top rope bout is one of the most interesting formats in WWE for not only including active competitors, but also surprise entrants and wrestlers from the past.

One of the favorites to win the match was Brock Lesnar, who entered the competition as the #22 participant.

His run lasted nearly 6 minutes, during which he secured 3 eliminations before being eliminated through the joint efforts of Cody Rhodes and LA Knight.

The biggest botch, many viewers believed, was Lesnar’s elimination taking place during Jey Uso‘s entrance.

Jey’s entrance is one of the catchiest ones in WWE, as fans like to groove to it, solely focusing on the star in question. So, many of the fans in the arena, as well as at home, missed Lesnar’s elimination as they were focused on Uso.

On the latest episode of The Coach & Bro podcast, Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo evaluated the spot, with the former speculating about what would have happened if Vince McMahon were still in charge of the creative team.

To this, Russo claimed that someone would have been fired.

Brock Lesnar Angry Over WWE Royal Rumble Elimination?

The duo also surmised that the elimination would have royally angered Brock Lesnar, especially after he saw how it played out during the broadcast.

Brock is, what people don’t understand about Brock is, he is truly a worker. Like, he plays the game. He only gets the contract he gets Vince because he is able to, and Vince [McMahon] gave it to him. We all would take that deal. We really would. But the fact that he wasn’t shown basically being eliminated, I promise you, he was pi**ed when he got there.
