WWE Activates Plan B Amid Saudi PLE Uncertainty
WWE was reportedly planning to hold this year’s Night of Champions in Riyadh in June 2026. However, amid rising tensions in the Middle East, the company has had to reevaluate its plans.
Dave Meltzer recently provided an update, stating that the Stamford-based promotion is not willing to put its employees at risk and is therefore likely to change the location of the upcoming Saudi Arabian PLE.
Meltzer also added that Triple H and co. might be forced to change the venue for WrestleMania 43, which has been announced to take place in Saudi Arabia next year.
“Regarding WWE and Saudi Arabia, while nothing has been said officially nor decided 100 percent, most are of the impression the July PPV there is unlikely to happen. Unless things change in the world, WWE won’t be going there due to the risk.”
“There were two more shows scheduled this year plus Mania next year. All are contingent on the situation changing as right now big events scheduled for the country are not happening, whether it be Formula 1, UFC, boxing or WWE.”
WWE Is Looking For Another Venue For Night Of Champions
Bodyslam.net reporter Corey Hayes shared a new update on the situation, revealing that the Stamford-based promotion has already started looking for alternative venues to host Night of Champions this year, considering the current geopolitical situation.
Cory tweeted, “This is correct. WWE is already looking at venues”
As of this writing, there has been no update on whether the Stamford-based promotion has begun making similar plans for WrestleMania 43.
