WWE may have to cancel a major upcoming Premium Live Event.

Earlier, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that the Stamford-based promotion is internally discussing the status of its upcoming events in Saudi Arabia amid ongoing conflicts and rising tensions in the Middle East.

The current global situation has reportedly prompted WWE and its parent company, TKO Group Holdings, to evaluate the safety of their talent and staff before moving forward with scheduled shows in the region.

Now, Dave Meltzer has provided an additional update. According to Meltzer, while there has been no official confirmation yet, the Stamford-based promotion is very likely to cancel the upcoming July event (he probably meant Night of Champions in Riyadh in June 2026) unless the situation improves.

Meltzer noted that the company is unwilling to put its employees at risk. He also added that the current geopolitical situation could potentially affect other future events planned in Saudi Arabia, including WrestleMania 43, which is scheduled to take place there next year.

“Regarding WWE and Saudi Arabia, while nothing has been said officially nor decided 100 percent, most are of the impression the July PPV there is unlikely to happen. Unless things change in the world, WWE won’t be going there due to the risk.”

“There were two more shows scheduled this year plus Mania next year. All are contingent on the situation changing as right now big events scheduled for the country are not happening, whether it be Formula 1, UFC, boxing or WWE.”

WWE has maintained a long-term partnership with Saudi Arabia since 2018. As part of that arrangement, the company has hosted several major shows in the country over the years. Most recently, the Stamford-based promotion held the Royal Rumble 2026 in Riyadh, which turned out to be a highly successful event.
