Gunther is a true workhorse in WWE.

He does the work. He works the storyline. He leaves.

Rarely will fans see The Ring General engage in more fan interaction than necessary as a popular WWE Superstar.

Interestingly, there’s a reason why he isn’t pursuing a spot at the top of the roster like other superstars. He doesn’t want to be at the mountaintop. Instead, he enjoys his current role. He revealed the same on What Do You Want To Talk About? With Cody Rhodes.

I like my role and how I do it. I don’t have it in me to be wanting to be the guy that is at the very mountaintop, and everybody looks up to him.

Gunther showered praise on Cody Rhodes

The Ring General broke character and revealed that he held admiration for Cody Rhodes for being able to handle the fan interaction.

I admire you [Cody Rhodes] sometimes for what you do, because I couldn’t. I would not be able to have that much fan interaction, to have that much media interaction, and all of that. And you do it really good. That’s not for me… I wanna be at the top, but in a different role and contribute that way.

Currently, Cody Rhodes is scheduled for an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Drew McIntyre on SmackDown.
