A new report has shed light on how the departure of Vince McMahon from WWE has affected morale behind the scenes in the company.

Vince McMahon announced his retirement on social media in July 2022 to the shock of many who felt McMahon would never walk away from the company he led for over 40 years. The Chairman’s retirement came about amid an investigation into him over alleged sexual misconduct and hush money payments.

On the WWE Q3 earnings call, WWE President Frank Riddick III revealed the full cost of the investigation into McMahon – and former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis – while saying that McMahon has agreed to pay “reasonable costs” for the investigation not covered by insurance.

Now Fightful Select has reported on what Vince McMahon’s departure has done for morale in the company. A “WWE higher-up” has said that the morale behind the scenes in WWE since Triple H took over the running of the company as Chief Content Officer has been the highest they’ve experienced in over a decade that they’ve been a part of the promotion.

McMahon’s departure has seen the return of several WWE Superstars that were released while he was at the helm. Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Bray Wyatt are among those to have made their returns in recent months.
