Major Update On Vince McMahon Potentially Buying Back WWE
A lot of people just make things up on the internet, and now the rumour and innuendo are focused on WWE and Vince McMahon.
Endeavor completed its takeover of WWE in September 2023, with Vince McMahon moving into a new role as Executive Chairman of the newly formed TKO Group.
A few short months later, a lawsuit was filed against McMahon, accusing him of serious sexual abuse and sex trafficking. The suit filed by a former WWE employee sent shockwaves through the company, and with sponsors threatening to pull their support, Vince McMahon was told to resign from TKO, which he did, bringing his official association with WWE to an end.
In a separate lawsuit, Endeavor’s takeover has been called a “sham” as some shareholders believe McMahon took their deal, as it was the only offer for the company that would have kept him in power.
Vince McMahon Is Not Buying Back WWE
Now, a social media account which just makes things up for engagement based in India has claimed that McMahon could be set to buy WWE back with help from Saudi Arabia. The claim was repeated on X, which caused a community note which has debunked the rumour. The note read:
The claim that Vince McMahon is in active talks to buy back WWE with Saudi backing originates from an unverified Instagram account [@sportsbash.in] with no supporting evidence. Credible wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp [Fightful] has stated there is no truth to it.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has claimed there’s no truth to the rumour and is on a mission to debunk baseless claims posted online.
These accounts post made-up stories for engagement that then pay them; this is the same reason why people like Jonathan Coachman have peddled these claims for months on a podcast that should get no attention.
