Vince McMahon Denied Brie Bella’s Request For Ex-WWE Star To Retire Her
Vince McMahon always had the last say when he was running WWE, and would have the finish be his way rather than anyone else.
Keeping true to that nature, Brie Bella once approached The Big Man about an idea for her retirement match. But he rejected it.
The story was told by Lana on Ring The Belle.
Vince McMahon did not let Lana retire Brie Bella
At WrestleMania 32, a multi-woman tag team match was organized where the Total Divas took on the non-Total Divas. This was Lana’s debut match.
Following that, Brie Bella had approached Vince McMahon to let Lana retire her, but he rejected the idea since he wanted Bella to retire on a high note.
Brie (Bella) actually pitched this story, it was all Brie. I’m so thankful. She actually pitched for me to have a singles match the next night against her and to go over and actually put her into retirement. I was really nervous, I was okay it didn’t happen, because I wasn’t ready. Vince wanted her to win on the high and go off as a babyface, I totally understand that and I supported that because I was training, and I just didn’t feel like I was ready yet. Everything happens for a reason, my time will come, even though that would have been mega heat!
