Veteran Holding Out For One Last Match With AJ Styles
More than 20 years into his career, AJ Styles remains in demand.
At Slammiversary 2025, AJ Styles made a stunning return to TNA on what was one of the company’s biggest nights in recent memory.
On the show, Styles came to the ring after Leon Slater defeated Moose to claim the X-Division Championship. The veteran heaped praise on the young star and reflected fondly on his own time in TNA.
The appearance was Styles’ first in TNA for over a decade, and only added to speculation that he could wrestle for the promotion again in the near future. WWE’s growing influence and interest in TNA means that this is much more of a realistic possibility as 2025 moves into 2026.
AJ Styles’ Achievements Are “Unprecedented”
In a new interview with SoCal Val for WrestlingNews.Co, TNA veteran Frankie Kazarian discussed the current buzz around the company and his own hopes for the future. When asked about a potential dream match, Kazarian said he’d love to share the ring with his long-time friend Styles.
“The first name that comes to mind, and it’s been discussed a lot this year, is AJ Styles… we’ve wrestled each other literally hundreds of times.”
Expanding further, Kazarian said that Styles had already become a legend long before he even left TNA. With that in mind, he reiterated that he’d love to face his former rival one more time.
“The guy had a Hall of Fame career when he was in TNA, and what he’s done in the last decade there is just unprecedented. So I would love to do that dance one more time with him.”
Back in July, AJ Styles admitted that he’d like to return to TNA to wrestle one more time before he retires. His comments came shortly after he signed a one-year extension with WWE, while repeatedly stating that he won’t be competing for much longer.
The Phenomenal One celebrated his 48th birthday on June 2.
Styles was most recently in action on the September 1 edition of Raw, where he failed to take the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio.
