Updated Lineup for WWE NXT Takeover Portland on Feb. 16 (Six Matches Official)

The next major event on WWE Network is called NXT Takeover Portland. This show has a different feel to it compared to previous NXT Takeover events. For one thing, it takes place on a Sunday night even though most Takeover events have taken place on Saturday nights.

Another thing that makes this Takeover feel different than some of the events from the past is that they have announced six matches so far. Most Takeover events have five matches over 2 hours and 30 minutes of broadcast time. By adding a sixth match, does that mean they might run three hours or more? I don’t know yet, but it seems likely.

Two matches became official on WWE NXT this week when it was announced that Keith Lee will defend the NXT North American Title against Dominik Dijakovic. They also informed us that Dakota Kai will face former best friend Tegan Nox in a Street Fight.

The end of NXT this week saw Velveteen Dream make his return and he targeted Roderick Strong, who was credited with injuring Dream several months ago. It’s possible they add Dream vs. Strong to the card for seven matches to make it feel more like a Raw/Smackdown PPV, but for now all we know are the six matches.

Here are the six matches that are official as of today.

* NXT Championship: Adam Cole (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

* NXT Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Bianca Belair

* Finn Balor vs. Johnny Gargano

* NXT North American Championship: Keith Lee (c) vs. Dominik Dijakovic

* NXT Tag Team Championships: The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs. The Broserweights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne)

* Street Fight: Tegan Nox vs. Dakota Kai

NXT Takeover: Portland streams live, Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7 ET/4 PT on WWE Network.

There’s also going to be a musical performance from Poppy too.

Analysis: I think it’s a very strong lineup. NXT is in a good place right now and this might be one of the best Takeover events they have ever done, which says a lot because of how many amazing shows they have done.
