WrestleMania 42’s ticket sales haven’t moved at the expected pace.

WWE and its creative team have repeatedly come under fire with critics and fans claiming that the lack of strong storytelling and direction leading up to WrestleMania is directly impacting ticket sales.

To add to the issues, major stars who would have been in the main event, like Bron Breakker, were unfortunately injured in training recently. His likely opponent, Seth Rollins, is also yet to be medically cleared to perform, leaving WWE Creative in a tough spot with certain matches.

Although much of the top card for WrestleMania is still solid, with one main event already locked in, Royal Rumble 2026 winner Roman Reigns vs CM Punk for Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship, much buildup is yet to be done.

This, along with slow ticket sales are reportedly causing a dip in morale among talent, observed Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

Sean Ross Sapp Claims Talent Is Aware Of WWE WrestleMania Ticket Sales Issues

Sean Ross Sapp explained during the Fightful Select Q&A that although there isn’t panic backstage, there are people within WWE who believe better creative direction will automatically lead to better ticket sales.

Yeah, yeah, there is. There’s certainly some people that wish that the creative would do better, as then ticket sales would do better. And I mean I’ve reported extensively on the comp situation and how many talent were just so frustrated, especially now that the tickets aren’t moving, that they’re not able to get comps to the degree that they did.

This comes after Allegiant Stadium has issued a 25% discount code on WrestleMania 42 tickets despite WWE initially stating that ticket prices would remain steady for the time being. There have also been reports on limitations added to broadcasting WrestleMania watchalongs in local pubs and restaurants in Vegas within a 50-mile radius of the venue.

Wrestlers are also not getting complementary tickets (comps) for friends and family members owing to the slow sales as compared to last year’s WrestleMania, which took place at the same venue.

I will say it’s loosened up a little bit and I’ve just waited for the day that I, you know, I hear talent say, okay, we’re just all working it into our deals. Some of them are and some of them were. I think it was even Roman Reigns advised some wrestlers like, if you want it, don’t expect it, work it into your contract. And that’s what a lot of wrestlers are doing now.

This WrestleMania’s build-up is turning out to be more fluid than WWE’s usual concrete booking and pre-planning of the event due to multiple factors.
