Update On CM Punk’s Physical Condition Ahead Of Rumoured Return

CM Punk

A new report has suggested that CM Punk is looking good ahead of a potential return to the ring.

It is widely accepted that Punk is heading back to the wrestling world in the very near future, with AEW being his most likely destination.

Speculation has been swirling around Punk for some time, with AEW even appearing to reference the former WWE Champion on Dynamite. While AEW President Tony Khan has refused to give anything away about the potential signing, that has done little to quell the rumours.

However, Punk who is now 42 , hasn’t competed inside a wrestling ring since January 2014. This means that he has been inactive in terms of wrestling, for more than seven years. This coupled with the fact that the former World Champion was struggling physically when he left WWE, has led some to question how effective he will be should he get back in the ring.

In light of this, a new report has some positive news regarding the self proclaimed ‘Best In The World.’

The report from Fightful Select says that Punk has been training on his own as well as working in the ring for Starz show “Heels.” Fightful report that they have spoken to people who have worked with Punk and they have all been positive in their assessment of the former WWE Superstar.

One source notes that Punk looks “completely healthy” while another said that he was very good in the ring. The most promising description comes from a third source that describes Punk in the ring as “working so well, it was as if he never left.”

CM Punk hasn’t wrestled since the 2014 Royal Rumble and his subsequent departure from WWE. The former world champion later tried his hand at Mixed Martial Arts, losing both contests in UFC. However, the latter of these has since been overturned.

An AEW Rampage special titled ‘First Dance’ is scheduled to take place on August 20th in Punk’s home town of Chicago. Following the announcement of the show, linked with Punk’s alleged imminent arrival, the show sold out in a matter of minutes.
