Massive Update On IYO SKY’s Status For WWE WrestleMania 42
WWE may soon add IYO SKY to the WrestleMania 42 match card.
SKY’s tag partner, Rhea Ripley, won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match earlier this year. Therefore, she will face Jade Cargill in a singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship. According to a new report, WWE might also add SKY to the WrestleMania match card very soon, and she is expected to face Asuka.
Asuka and SKY were former stablemates in the Damage CTRL faction. However, after SKY became friends with Rhea Ripley, Asuka got jealous and turned on SKY, which sparked an intense rivalry between them. On the March 13 episode of Monday Night RAW, Asuka caused a distraction during Iyo Sky’s match against Raquel Rodriguez.
Iyo Sky vs Asuka Match Reportedly Discussed for WrestleMania 42
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer stated that IYO SKY vs. Asuka at the Showcase of the Immortals is being internally discussed. The matchup is very likely to make its way to the WrestleMania card, but it is not 100 percent confirmed yet.
“Iyo sky and Asuka is probable from what I’m told. There’s gonna be 14 total matches. Seven on each night. I think last year it was six on each night. They’re adding a match. I think it was going to be six and they’re adding to seven because they’re going an hour earlier. And Asuka and Iyo Sky, from what I understand, is right now match number 14 out of 14. So it’s not like it’s not like 100%, but it’s probable.
WrestleMania 42 is less than three weeks away, and WWE has already announced 12 matches for the event. This year’s WrestleMania will once again take place at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday 19, 2026.
The two-night event will be headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton (Undisputed WWE Championship match) and CM Punk vs Roman Reigns (World Heavyweight Championship match).
