Major Update On CM Punk’s Creative Plans In AEW

CM Punk

CM Punk is on his way back to AEW on the debut edition of Collision and now a new report has shed more light on possible creative plans for the former AEW World Champion.

After months of intense speculation, Tony Khan finally revealed on Dynamite in San Diego, California that CM Punk will indeed be returning to AEW for the first time since All Out 2022 on the debut edition of Collision on June 17th.

Punk has been absent from the company since his infamous backstage fight with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega which may explain why the announcement of Punk received something of a mixed reaction from the home state crowd of The Bucks.

Now Fightful Select has given a possible insight into the future creative plans for Punk in AEW with the star said to have “taken a liking to the work of Jay White.” That could lead to CM Punk doing battle with Switchblade and embarking on a wider feud with the top-shelf gunslingers in Bullet Club Gold.

The report also noted that Ace Steel – whose return had caused some issues ahead of Punk’s comeback being announced – was said to be seen by those backstage as a “valuable creative member” before the incident at All Out. It was noted that Steel’s skillset is believed to have been underestimated by fans online but it is also believed that All Out fight likely wouldn’t have erupted to the point it did if he hadn’t been involved.

Jay White and Juice Robinson are currently in the midst of a feud with Ricky Starks and FTR in AEW and with FTR having been closely associated with CM Punk in the past this could lead to a showdown between White and Punk in the near future.
