Unlikely WWE Star Defends Roman Reigns From Common Complaint

Roman Reigns

Jey Uso has defended Roman Reigns from a common criticism.

Since defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns has been cutting down on the number of dates he works for WWE. The Tribal Chief now only makes rare appearances at live events and has also cut down on the TV shows and Premium Live Events he is part of.

During 2023, Reigns only took part in 11 matches, with nine of those being defences of his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The Head of the Table last took to the ring at Crown Jewel on November 4th.

This limited schedule has come under a lot of criticism from fans who feel the champion should be a staple of WWE TV, however, now one of his previous challengers and a former member of The Bloodline, Jey Uso, has defended the star.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Uso broke character to express his pride in how far his cousin has risen in WWE, before claiming he has earned the time he takes off.

“I look at my cousin now, and I’m just happy at how far he’s come. From the day he walked into FCW developmental, to which I was there, to present. Inspiring. He’s the blueprint of what hard work does, and you can just never knock that, and he has a great work ethic. All the time that he has off, he deserves all that uce. He earned it.”

Roman Reigns To Defend Undisputed WWE Universal Title At Royal Rumble 2024

Roman Reigns will face one of his biggest challenges yet at the Royal Rumble as he defends his title against not one, but three challengers. On the January 5th edition of WWE Smackdown, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight took part in a Triple Threat match to determine the next Number One Contender for the gold, But Reigns led The Bloodline in attacking the stars before match could end.

Rather than solve the problem for Reigns, though, he only added to his troubles as Nick Aldis announced that due to his actions, the star would now defend his title against all three men in a Fata Fourway bout.
