Unconfirmed MJF Match Likely For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

MJF

MJF is back in AEW in a big way and his sights set on some of the company’s other top names but now it looks like his dance card might be full for Forbidden Door.

The last time MJF competed in an AEW ring was at Worlds End back on December 30th 2023. At that show, MJF lost the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe after Adam Cole turned his back on his supposed best friend to form the Undisputed Kingdom.

MJF took several months away from the company following that loss but returned at Double Or Nothing where he took out Adam Cole who is still recovering from his devastating ankle injury.

MJF Finds Forbidden Door Opponent?

On Dynamite in Loveland, Colorado, MJF was his usual bombastic self as he ran down many of the company’s top players including Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. However, it was none of them that confronted The Salt of the Earth and instead, Rush appeared to try and shut MJF up.

The confrontation quickly broke down with referees and security forced to intervene before things got physical but it seems the two men are now on a collision course for a match. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that “It looks like MJF and Rush is going to be at Forbidden Door.”

Nothing is confirmed until it is announced by AEW but it could well be that MJF returns to action exactly 6 months to the day after his last match.
