New details have emerged in the trial of former WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr.

In 2023, the former World Tag Team Champion was charged with stealing millions of dollars, including money from the Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

It was alleged that he and his partners used the funds to buy themselves a life of luxury.

Subsequently, he was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and theft relating to programs receiving federal funds.

The charge also included six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft related to federal funds, and four counts of money laundering. Ted DiBiase Jr.’s brother, Brett DiBiase, had pleaded guilty earlier to state and federal charges.

New Twist In Ted DiBiase Jr.’s Trial

The latest update in the Ted DiBiase Jr. trial comes from WJTV, a local Mississippi media outlet.

The report suggested that the former WWE star’s team has sought a mistrial, owing to their attorney, Scott Gilbert, dealing with a health issue, rendering him debilitated for three to four weeks.

The judge then asked when they would like the case to proceed, to which the defense replied ‘no less than three months.’

The prosecutors, on the other hand, raised an objection to the request, claiming that DiBiase’s team has two attorneys, and that the case should be able to proceed with them taking over. They also expressed concerns over the availability of witnesses if the judge grants the defense’s request.

Ted DiBiase Jr. is the son of the legendary “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase Sr. He was signed with the Stamford promotion from 2007 to 2013.

DiBiase is renowned for his storylines involving The Legacy faction, which also included Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes.
