Triple H Names Unexpected Name As The Face Of WWE
In Unreal Season 2 Episode 1, Triple H praises this multi-faceted WWE star.
Former Football star, sports analyst, and now color commentator in WWE, Pat McAfee, has been with the Stamford-based promotion since 2018.
During his tenure, he has been a pre-show announcer for NXT: TakeOver and WrestleMania, a co-commentator with Michael Cole on SmackDown, and a part-time wrestler. Having stepped in the ring with the likes of The Miz and Gunther, McAfee is a well-known figure in the WWE Universe.
WWE CCO Triple H Praises Pat McAfee
Triple H highlights McAfee in the first episode of WWE: Unreal’s newly launched second season, saying that Pat McAfee is the face of WWE for a lot of people. This is high praise for McAfee coming from the CCO of WWE, who is in control of who the top star is and will be.
Pat McAfee is the face of the WWE to a lot of people. Pat’s association with us goes back quite a way. I was vaguely aware of who he was. I knew he was a kicker for the Colts. You know, it’s been incredible to see him go from, like, little podcaster to NFL stuff to ESPN, to like, just keep blowing up along the way.
Elsewhere in the season, Triple H and fellow writer Road Dogg are seen getting into a heated argument over the booking of R-Truth vs. John Cena.
