Top WWE Star Left In Tears Following Recent Retirement
A major WWE star has broken down in tears as they pay tribute to a recently retired icon.
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg hung up his boots in the summer of 2025 as he lost to Gunther. Gunther was the man on the opposite side of the ring when it was time for John Cena to have the final match of his legendary career in December 2025.
Gunther picked up the win over Cena as the man who preached “Never give up”, meekly tapped out to The Ring General’s sleeper hold.
At the Royal Rumble, Gunther forced AJ Styles to put his career on the line for a match against him. The sleeper hold again proved pivotal as he put Styles to sleep with the referee bringing an end to the match, meaning Styles is now retired.
However, things might not be that simple, as Styles teased leaving his gloves in the ring to indicate his retirement, but stopped himself from doing so. Rumours have run rampant ever since that Styles could wrestle again, and perhaps not in WWE.
Finn Balor Pays Tribute To WWE Rival
Now, WWE has released a video of stars paying tribute to the former WWE Champion, and Finn Balor was left very emotional as he spoke from the heart about the man who succeeded him as Bullet Club leader:
AJ, I know we got to talk about it recently, and, you know, I was so happy to hear you’re at peace with your decision and you’re excited for your future, and I’m so excited for what you’ll be able to give back to the business. And AJ, I just wanna say congratulations on such an incredible career.
From a personal standpoint, I wanna say thank you because you’ve always been such a constant source of inspiration for me, and I know we’ve had very similar career paths, but I hope you know that I’ve always, always looked up to you.
For me, you are the benchmark for what it is to be a professional both inside and outside of the ring. I’m very grateful that I got the opportunity to share the last 10 years with you here in this company. I know we kind of dodged each other a lot on the Indies. You were in TNA, I was in Japan. When you came to Japan, I went to NXT, so we missed each other for a long time.
But I feel like getting to know you over the last 10 years on a personal level and in the ring, and just witnessing how great and phenomenal you really are, I wanna say thank you for being AJ Styles.
