Top WWE Star Expected To Return On September 29th SmackDown

WWE LA Knight

LA Knight is expected to make an appearance on the next episode of SmackDown.

Knight missed the September 22nd edition of the show after testing positive for COVID-19, forcing creative changes to be made. It was reported that Knight was supposed to be coming to the aid of John Cena to save the 16-time World Champion from a beatdown by The Bloodline.

In an update by PWInsider, Knight is expected to be at the taping in Sacramento California. With Cena currently announced to face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa alone at Fastlane, it is expected that Knight will be announced as Cena’s partner for the upcoming Premium Live Event on October 7th.

The absence of Knight would have come as a disappointment to many fans in attendance as The Megastar consistently gets some of the loudest crowd reactions each and every week. While the card is always subject to change, WWE felt that the absence was so significant that they offered refunds to anyone who requested it.

LA Knight Expected To Receive WWE “Megapush”

Working with one of the biggest stars in the company for a second consecutive Premium Live Event, WWE has noticed the reactions that Knight has been receiving in 2023. The Megastar has been negotiating a new deal with WWE in recent weeks as the company looks to retain Knight for the foreseeable future. It has been said that once Knight puts pen to paper he is expected to receive a “megapush” in the company.

In a different timeline, there was a possibility that Knight would not be one of the top babyfaces on SmackDown as Vince McMahon once considered releasing the former Million Dollar Champion.
