Top AEW Star Getting Married Just A Day Before Forbidden Door 2026: “No Honeymoon Here”
A major name in AEW is getting married the day before one of the company’s biggest shows of the year.
As the AEW World Champion, Darby Allin is known for being one of the biggest risk-takers in all of pro wrestling, who is willing to do anything to win a match.
Many fans thought Allin would never become the AEW World Champion due to his daredevil nature in the ring, but he proved everybody wrong when he beat MJF for the World Title on the Spring BreakThru edition of Dynamite.
Since winning the championship, Allin has had 7 successful World Title defenses, including matches on every episode of Dynamite and twice on Collision, too.
During an interview with Q1043 New York, Darby Allin revealed that he’s getting married on Saturday, June 27th, which is one day before the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door PPV. That means no immediate honeymoon for the champ.
“June 27th. June 27th. Yes. So it’s coming up. I just found out the wedding’s on the 27th, and the very next day we have another pay-per-view. So no honeymoon — it’ll be in Seattle, where we’re from.”
The 33-year-old Allin has known his fiancée since high school: “Yeah, we met her on the school bus in high school.”
As Allin continued, he revealed that his future wife survived a shooting.
“They’re walking on a trail one day, and then he starts arguing with another wannabe gang member and that guy pulls out a gun… she got shot in the head.”
After reconnecting with his fiancée many years after high school, she thought it was cool that he was still wrestling.
“She’s like, ‘It’s so cool that you’re still doing all the crazy stuff from high school.’ Then I was like, ‘Let’s hang out,’ and then brought her bungee jumping.” (H/T Wrestlezone)
