Tony Khan “Very Confident” On When Bryan Danielson Will Return

Bryan Danielson Tony Khan

Tony Khan has given an update on when we can expect to see Bryan Danielson back in action.

Danielson has been on the injured list since Forbidden Door back in June. There, he took on Kazuchika Okada in a dream main event. While the American Dragon picked up an astonishing submission victory over Okada, he left the bout in worse shape than his opponent.

While Danielson initially believed he had a fractured lower arm, on examination it turned out that he had suffered a “severe break” which required surgery and meant a lengthy recovery period.

Tony Khan provides clarity on Bryan Danielson’s return

During an interview with Mike Johnson of PWInsider, AEW President Tony Khan gave an update on Danielson, saying he’s confident the star will be back later this year.

“There is a little more clarity as to when Bryan Danielson will be back from his injury. I’m very excited to get Bryan back. I don’t want to put a timetable because it’s a challenging injury and a tough recovery, but I’m very confident Bryan will be back later this year.”

Unfortunately, when it comes to former Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter, who has been dealing with her own injuries, the situation is less clear.

“I’m still not sure when Jamie Hayter will be cleared. She doesn’t know and we don’t know, but hopefully sooner rather than later. Bryan, I’m very confident you’ll see in a matter of months.”

In a recent report regarding the window of return for Danielson, The American Dragon is expected to miss the next 3 major AEW events.
