Tony Khan Reveals Bryan Danielson’s Current AEW Status
Former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson is one of the biggest names on the promotion’s roster, given his status as one of the biggest pro-wrestling stars in the world.
Danielson built a remarkable in-ring career during his time between the squared circle, wrestling all over the world, including promotions like Ring of Honor, NJPW, Dragon Gate, and the WWE.
He made a name for himself as an excellent technical wrestler and received widespread acclaim and admiration during his time in WWE during the 2010s. He became a multiple-time World Champion in the promotion before departing.
Following his departure from the Stamford-based promotion, he joined AEW in 2021 and has been an All Elite member ever since. He called time on his glorious full-time in-ring career after losing the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley in 2024.
Bryan Danielson still plays an integral role in Tony Khan’s AEW
Danielson has since been semi-retired and has wrestled less frequently. A couple of injury concerns have kept him away from the squared circle, leading to him signing on as part of the promotion’s broadcast team.
Bryan joined Taz, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur in the commentary team, serving as the full-time color commentator for AEW Dynamite. Speaking at the Double of Nothing media call, Tony Khan provided an update on his current status in the promotion.
Tony Khan says he tries to make travel for Bryan Danielson and Taz as easy as possible, which sometimes involves rotating commentary teams.
TK notes it's hard for them to do long flights with the injuries they've had in wrestling.

He revealed that he needs to keep rotating the commentary team at times in order to make travel more comfortable for both Bryan Danielson and Taz, given their in-ring past.
Tony Khan commented that due to the injuries suffered by both Danielson and Taz during their respective distinguished careers, it’s difficult for both Danielson and Taz to take long flights. This has led to rotation of the commentary teams on occasion.
