Tony Khan Announces 24-Year-Old AEW Star Is Out Indefinitely
A top champion is done for the foreseeable future, and AEW President Tony Khan made it official ahead of AEW Collision.
The Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling women’s divisions have been dealt a massive blow with the news that rising star Persephone has been sidelined indefinitely.
TK announced on social media that Persephone suffered an injury caused by Julia Hart’s black mist on Collision Playoff Palooza. The 24-year-old star was competing alongside Alex Windsor in a tag team match against Hart and AEW Women’s Champion Thekla – a match the duo lost. Hart’s mist is now at the center of an injury angle that has pulled Persephone from upcoming programming entirely.
No timeline has been provided for Persephone’s return. “Out indefinitely” is the full extent of the update, leaving her status completely open-ended.
Tony Khan confirmed Persephone will be replaced in a major match
The timing of this injury could not be worse for the star. Persephone was booked to compete in the Survival of the Fittest match at ROH Supercard of Honor on May 15 for the ROH Women’s Championship. That spot is now gone. Tony Khan confirmed that she will not be replaced directly; instead, Zayda Steel and Hyan will face off to determine who will fill her position in the match.

Julia Hart continues to be one of the more effective heels in the women’s division right now. Whether this leads to a proper program between Hart and Persephone upon her return remains to be seen.
Fans are now waiting for medical updates to see how long the CMLL World Women’s Champion will be out of action and whether she will be forced to vacate her title.
