WWE Hall Famer Suggests AEW’s Tony Khan Takes A Step Back

Tony Khan AEW

Tony Khan is a very busy guy running AEW that’s going to be even busier as the company prepares to launch a new weekly TV show called Collision.

There is yet another “huge announcement” coming from Tony Khan and All Elite Wrestling, which was teased this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. The announcement is likely going to be a new TV deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and AEW with the announcement of AEW Collision airing Saturdays at 8 p.m. ET for two hours on TNT.

As the AEW Owner, General Manager and Head of Creative (aka “booker” in pro wrestling terms), Tony Khan already has his hands full coming up with the creative direction for AEW Dynamite, Rampage and Ring of Honor’s shows that he also owns. Add another two-hour wrestling show on top of that and it gets to be a lot.

Add in the fact that Tony’s father Shahid Khan owns the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and the Fulham football club that is part of the England Premier League. Tony Khan has important roles with both of those teams as well as other businesses he is involved in.

Due to everything he is doing in AEW, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T believes that Tony Khan might need to step back a bit. Here’s how Booker T explained it on his Hall of Fame podcast.

“I would make sure I was viewing this thing from the perspective where I could see everything going on and make sure I manage that thing properly. Sometimes that means you’ve got to take a step back to take a step forward.”

“It’s so hard for Tony Khan to do the business side, the production side, the writing, and if he’s doing all of that, that’s why I say take a step back to take a step forward.”

Booker T would go on to offer some advice for Tony Khan as well.

“Make sure you get the right people around you doing that and trust them, more importantly than anything. But you’ve got to have the right people to trust.”
