Tony Khan Accused Of Paying For Bots In Targeted Attack
Has Tony Khan really been paying for bots to target a constant AEW critic?
When it comes to the world of wrestling, social media is a complete dumpster fire that is best avoided at all costs. Bots and trolls seem to fan the flames of a parasocial tribal war pitting WWE and AEW against one another for seemingly no reason at all.
Many former WWE stars have tried to exploit that landscape by being constant critics of AEW in the hopes of getting engagement and keeping themselves in the public eye. Perhaps one of the more bizarre names to constantly criticise AEW was Paradigm talent agent Nick LoPiccolo. Despite his lofty position and representing WWE stars, LoPiccolo spent more time than anyone would expect dragging AEW online.
Tony Khan Funding Hate Campaign?
It seemed to be only a matter of time before the inevitable occurred and LoPiccolo lost his job. Now he’s taken to social media to blame Tony Khan for a hate campaign against him while laughably claiming that he’s not anti-AEW:
i am not anti aew. faceless accounts are bots, and in all probability paid for, most likely by tony khan. the reason ‘not being served catering’ is even a thing is bc tony irrationally took offense to a tweet that wasn’t meant to be critical of aew, and started paying faceless bots to attack me. sometimes it really is that easy to figure out. @DirtSheetRadio
When one lickspittle suggested LoPiccolo had gotten under Tony Khan’s skin, he seemed to revel in having more time for trolling now that he’s unemployed:
yep — and now i am unrestrained by paradigm and i can talk about tony. you didn’t think that one through did you lol
Given that there are just two major promotions in North America where wrestlers can make serious money, it remains to be seen how those still on LoPiccolo’s books in WWE will react if they ever need to get him to negotiate on their behalf with AEW.
