Huge TNA Title Change Takes Place On AMC Debut
The TNA World Championship was on the line on its landmark Impact episode
TNA’s flagship show Impact made its debut on the major network AMC on Thursday, January 15, 2026. The event showcased a stacked card of matches and even had an appearance from WWE and TNA Icon AJ Styles to kick off the show.
The main event for the night was for the TNA World Championship between Champion Frankie Kazarian and challenger Mike Santana. In what was roughly a 15-minute-long bout, Kazarian attempted to execute Santana’s Spin-The-Block finishing move towards the end. But Santana landed two Spin The Block finishers on his opponent, either side of Kazarian’s failed attempt, and picked up the win.
The title win marks Santana’s second World Championship run, his first ending in just 32 days after Kazarian cashed in his “Call Your Shot” Gauntlet trophy on a weakened Santana (Following a DQ end to a title bout with Ryan Nemeth). He is also the 16th wrestler to have multiple title reigns.
The title change marks the 65th title change in the championship’s history.
AJ Styles Kicked Off The TNA AMC Debut Episode
WWE star AJ Styles was there to kick off proceedings, as he is one of TNA’s most decorated and important names.
The former TNA World Champion warmed up the crowd by calling it “The house that AJ built,” claiming that it will be “bigger and bolder than ever” on the AMC network.
The crowd got into AMC chants as Styles urged them to keep the energy going throughout the show.
Styles’ latest assignment in WWE was on Raw this past Monday when he faced off against Gunther. The Ring General stole a win against The Phenomenal One in the sneakiest fashion by faking a tapout and landing a low blow on Styles when the referee wasn’t looking, following it up with a powerbomb for the win.
