TNA Bans Blading & Blood
TNA is making some big changes.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, TNA officials informed the locker room during a talent meeting on May 2 that “excessive blood and blading” will no longer be permitted.
The final match, at least for the time being, to allow the practice was the Dog Collar Match between Eric Young and International Champion Steve Maclin, which was taped on May 1.
In the case of “hardway” blood or something like a bloody mouth, it was noted that this is sometimes unavoidable and will apparently go unpunished. However, “heavy bloodletting” is now a thing of the past.
Bryan Alvarez later confirmed the report from Johnson, noting that TNA is “taking a break from the blade.”
Many fans have been quick to point out that the edict brings the promotion almost in line with wrestling partner WWE. The sports entertainment giant banned the use of blood back in 2008, although things have been relaxed for some main event talent under Triple H.
TNA Preparing To Be Under Siege
TNA’s next high-profile event is its Under Siege special on May 23. At the taping, Victoria Crawford, known as Alicia Fox in WWE, will make her in-ring TNA debut. Not only that, she’ll be challenging Masha Slamovich for the Knockouts Championship.
You can find the updated card for Under Siege below.
