The Usos Have New Challengers For SmackDown Tag Team Title

The Usos

The Usos might have bigger worries on their mind given the state of The Bloodline but they will have to prepare to put their SmackDown Tag Team Championship on the line.

An eight-team tournament has been taking place on SmackDown in recent weeks to find challengers for the blue brand’s tag team championship that has been held by The Usos since they defeated The Mysterios for the gold at Money In The Bank in 2021. Jimmy and Jey Uso have set a record with their title reign, becoming the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of any kind in company history.

On SmackDown in Greenville, South Carolina, the tournament finals took place to find The Usos’ next challengers between Imperium’s Giovanni Vince and Ludwig Kaiser and Braun Strowman and Ricochet. Strowman and Ricochet weren’t originally in the tournament but replaced Drew McIntyre and Sheamus as they pursued their own issues with The Viking Raiders.

In the end, Strowman and Ricochet were able to use their mixture of power and speed to overcome the Imperium duo with Ricochet capturing the victory when he delivered a Swanton Bomb from the massive shoulders of his partner.

The Usos will now defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championship against Braun Strowman and Ricochet on the 10th of February when SmackDown emanates from Uncasville, Connecticut.
