The Rock Reportedly Not Involved In Major WWE Storyline
An unfortunate update on The Rock’s WWE future has been provided.
The Final Boss has been absent from WWE TV since Elimination Chamber last year, where he signaled John Cena’s heel turn after Cody Rhodes refused to sell him his soul.
Following Randy Orton’s recent turn on Cody Rhodes ahead of WrestleMania 42, The Viper has been seen speaking to a mystery ally on the phone. Many quickly started speculating it could be The Rock.
Randy Orton’s WWE Ally Is Not The Rock
On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer responded to the rumors that The Rock might be revealed as Randy Orton’s mystery partner.
He disclosed that he was told it was not The Final Boss.
Everyone tells me it’s not. But of course, if it is, The Rock’s not going to let anyone know. But within the company, it was pretty much strongly denied to me. But like I said, when it comes to Dwayne, there’s only going to be three people who know. It’s going to be Nick and Paul and Dwayne. And you know, maybe one or two others, but it ain’t going to be, like, a lot of people. So yeah, if he fits, he absolutely fits in the story. But you know, I was absolutely told that it ain’t him, so. [H/T: WrestlingInc.]
