The Rock Reacts To Receiving Prestigious Award
The Rock will receive a big award for his incredible career in movies, particularly with one major company.
For the past 25 years, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has built an incredible legacy outside of WWE as an accomplished box office draw who has sold billions…and billions of movie tickets.
After achieving a remarkable level of success in the film industry, The Rock was announced as a recipient of a prestigious Disney Legends Award.
On social media, The Rock issued a statement expressing his gratitude for winning such a huge award from Disney.
I was really moved when I received “the call” as that certain voice on the other line said I would be receiving Disney’s highest honor ~ Disney Legends Award.

The full Disney Legends Class of 2026 includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Alan Tudyk, Bob Iger, Anne Hathaway, the Jonas Brothers, ESPN legend Chris Berman, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, “Beauty And The Beast” star Susan Egan, animator Eric Goldberg, and Kim Irvine from Imagineering. The ceremony will be broadcast on Disney+ when its held on August 16 with Ryan Seacrest as the host.
The Rock Is Likely Not Invovled In Randy Orton’s WWE Storyline
Since it’s Wrestlemania season, The Rock’s name is often brought up regarding WWE storylines as well. Could he be involved in WrestleMania 42? Anything is possible in WWE, of course.
In the current storyline involving Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his WrestleMania 42 opponent, Randy Orton, the Viper has been talking to somebody advising him on what to do to Rhodes. That has led some people to think it might be Rock, since he has a history with Rhodes dating back two years. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio claimed that he was told it’s not Rock-related.
“Everyone tells me it’s not. But of course, if it is, The Rock’s not going to let anyone know. But within the company, it was pretty much strongly denied to me. But like I said, when it comes to Dwayne, there’s only going to be three people who know. It’s going to be Nick and Paul and Dwayne.
And you know, maybe one or two others, but it ain’t going to be, like, a lot of people. So yeah, if he fits, he absolutely fits in the story. But you know, I was absolutely told that it ain’t him, so.”
After appearing at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025, The Rock has mostly kept quiet about WWE on social media, and hasn’t appeared on WWE television since then, even though he’s well paid as a member of the TKO Group’s Board of Directors.
