The Rock Received An Absurd Amount Of Money From TKO Amid Uncertain WWE Status
The Rock was highly paid by TKO despite missing out on several of their board meetings throughout the year.
Dwayne The Rock Johnson is one of the most decorated celebrities from the wrestling world. His success with WWE was next to very few, and his subsequent success in Hollywood as an actor meant that he had crossed over to mainstream pop culture.
The Rock would sporadically make appearances on WWE TV at major events to get the fans hyped. His last major role was as the Final Boss, when he feuded with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. Last year, he returned as The Final Boss to screw Rhodes and facilitate John Cena’s heel turn, but abruptly disappeared from TV weeks before WrestleMania 41.
Fans have been rallying for the return of the People’s Champion since his last appearance, and there are rumours that the Saudi’s could pay a ridiculous fee to have him be a part of the show.
Johnson is a member of the board of directors of TKO Group, WWE’s owners. He took the position in 2024 and signed an IP agreement with TKO. But he has several projects going on, especially in Hollywood, and this has made him miss many of the seven board meetings the group has had in the past year.
Despite missing those meetings, Dwayne made $900,000 in royalties as part of the agreement. He was also reimbursed $600,000 “for travel expenses associated with delivering services under the Johnson Services Agreement.”
This information was revealed in a new SEC filing.

He took his spot as a Disney Legend alongside stars like Anne Hathaway, Chris Berman, and The Jonas Brothers. It remains to be seen when The Great One will return to WWE, if at all, but at the moment, it looks like it could be a while, as he is also shooting a movie with legendary director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
