The Rock Surprisingly Namedropped By Top WWE Star: “I Don’t Know If It’s Still On The Line”
The Rock has just come out of the lips of one of the biggest WWE stars working currently in a throwback to a storyline he had with The Great One.
The Rock last appeared on WWE TV at Elimination Chamber last year to facilitate John Cena’s heel turn against Cody Rhodes, who was WWE Champion at the time.
After the show, however, the Great One disappeared from WWE TV and, although there has been much speculation of his return, he has still not shown up.
The Rock sits on the Board of Directors as part of TKO, WWE’s owner, and is working on major Hollywood films simultaneously. He recently got nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the film The Smashing Machine.
Cody Rhodes, meanwhile, is the Undisputed WWE Champion, who defended his title successfully against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42, with the Viper gunning for a record 15th World Title.
He is now embroiled in a feud with none other than the Ring General Gunther, who is out to claim Rhodes’ WWE Title and will attempt to do so when the two face off at Clash in Italy next Sunday.
Cody Rhodes Talks About The Rock Returning For His Soul
A post was shared on X by WrestlePurists, quoting Rhodes from a recent interview with GetUp ESPN.
In it, The American Nightmare was seen referencing the Rock and if the People’s Champion is still going to come for his “soul”.
“The Final Boss, The Rock, was asking on television for my soul. I don’t know if it’s still on the line. He appears when he appears.” – Cody Rhodes (@GetUpESPN)

Even though the Rock coming back suddenly to take Cody’s soul would be interesting, Rhodes is now focused on his WWE Title match against Gunther, the Career Killer, the man who ended the careers of John Cena, Bill Goldberg, and AJ Styles.
