The IInspiration have announced that they will be stepping away from the ring to “start a new chapter” in their lives.

In a statement posted on Twitter, The IInspiration – Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay – announced that they are taking a break from in-ring competition “indefinitely”.

The multi-time Women’s Tag Team Champions were last in action on the April 23rd edition of IMPACT Wrestling where they unsuccessfully challenged The Influence for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships.

“Former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The Inspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay) confirmed today that they will be indefinitely stepping away from in-ring action.

“The IInspiration have been a great part of IMPACT’s Knockouts roster and wonderful to work with,” said IMPACT Executive Vice-President Scott D’Amore. “Cassie and Jessie are incredibly talented performers. Everyone at IMPACT wishes them every success in the future.”

The IInspiration issued a joint statement: “We first want to thank Scott D’Amore and the entire IMPACT family. “We have had such an amazing experience, working with the incredible IMPACT staff and roster. We will cherish these IMPACT memories forever. We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and explore other opportunities that may come our way.”

Joining WWE in 2015, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay teamed up soon after their debut as The IIconics. The pair spent three years in NXT before moving to the main roster, later winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Following the team splitting in the summer of 2020, both women struggled to gain any significant momentum and were released in April 2021.

They made their debut as The IInspiration at IMPACT Wrestling Bound for Glory in October 2021, capturing the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championships for the first time. In the process, they became the only women’s team to hold tag team gold in both IMPACT and WWE.
