The Bella Twins’ stance on bringing back Total Divas.

Total Divas played a massive role in mainstreaming WWE’s women’s division during the Women’s Evolution era.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Nikki Bella stated that she wants Total Divas to return because she thinks it helped WWE women a lot in the past. Nikki said that fans connected more deeply with the women through Total Divas (and Total Bellas) because they got to see their struggles, friendships, drama, and personal lives, which made them appreciate the stars even more.

“We’ve had conversations about it for years, about bringing it back. We’ve always pushed hard for that because it really helped the women, not only showcase what they can do in and out of the ring, but it gave our voices such a big platform.”

Nikki added that this would be the perfect time to bring back the shows because WWE’s women’s division is currently performing at a very high level, and fans would enjoy seeing what today’s female wrestlers are like behind the scenes.

“I feel like now, with what the women are doing, it’s a perfect time for it to be back, and to showcase what these women are doing, how they’re delivering. And I want to know what some of them are doing inside and outside of the ring. If they were to call, we are back right now, so it might be a yes.”

“We’ve talked about this, and I’ll be honest, I pushed hard for both Divas and Bellas in their own ways to come back, because I do feel like they’re different shows than Unreal. We’re more a docu-soap, and they’re more documentary-based. I do feel like, because with the girls, there’s different groups, and they all have fun, and then it’s competitive, and there is drama.”

Brie Bella added that many women in WWE would probably love to be a part of the show, and she feels that WWE is missing an opportunity if they don’t revive it.

“And it was so great too for fans to connect with us in our personal lives, then just to know our backstories, and then when they saw us go out to the ring, I felt like they appreciated more, knowing the hard times we were going though, and how we pull it together to walk through gorilla and get to that ring. I think it’s a miss if they don’t do it. There are so many girls I know that would love to do it, it would be fun to watch.”
