Stone Cold Steve Austin Makes Heartbreaking WWE Announcement: “It’s Over”
Stone Cold Steve Austin put his WWE in-ring career behind him a long time ago.
Austin officially retired from full-time competition in 2003 due to severe neck and knee injuries. However, he made a return at WrestleMania 38 in a one-off No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens in Dallas, Texas, which he won. He has made several appearances in the past, but only in non-wrestling capacity.
It has been a long time since Stone Cold Steve Austin stepped away from in-ring action, but to this day, he remains one of the most famous wrestlers in the world. One of the key things that made him stand out was his “Stone Cold” persona, which he has since moved on from.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently appeared on the Busted Open podcast, where he spoke about his wrestling career and said it was “the best job he ever had.” He acknowledged that the WWE Universe are still very passionate about him even today, despite the presence of many talented and popular superstars, something he truly appreciates.
Stone Cold Steve Austin added that while he has moved on from his “Stone Cold” persona, it still feels good to reminisce about it now and then.
“Don’t get me wrong, man. They make all these memes on Instagram, and I’ll put one on my stories or whatever, so I get a chance to relive that stuff every now and then. And I don’t do it to be an egomaniac, but people are making them, you know, and that’s what I was known for. I’ll post them on my Instagram.”
“So it’s cool to see that stuff and remember the good times and the pops and the camaraderie and just the lifestyle. Man, that was the best job I ever had. And it’s over, and it’s been over for a long time, so I have moved on. But it’s cool to see some of the stuff they put together and remember the good times.”
“Right now I’m doing good times in a different fashion.”
