Stephanie Vaquer had made a name for herself in the indies before joining WWE in 2025.

The Chilean superstar competed in different parts of the world, including Japan, Mexico, and Europe. Between 2019 and 2024, she was a major part of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, where she won the CMLL World Women’s Championship once.

She quit the promotion in July 2024, leading to both the CMLL World Women’s Championship and the CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Championships being vacated.

During her time in the Mexican promotion, she was in a relationship with fellow wrestler El Cuatrero.

In March 2023, Stephanie Vaquer filed a criminal complaint against him, claiming physical assault. A few days later, following a AAA event, Cuatrero was arrested and charged with attempted murder and domestic violence.

The luchador was subsequently incarcerated, spending nearly two years in prison.

Now out of prison after completing his sentence, El Cuatrero has revealed his side of the story as he spoke to Nuestra Santa Voluntad.

Cuatrero recalled the events of March 3, 2023, claiming that the situation escalated quickly after Stephanie Vaquer learnt that he had filed a complaint against her.

But then, when she found out I filed one, instead of waiting for her rectification date, she acted the next day.

He claimed that he had been to the movies when the WWE Women’s World Champion confronted him, resulting in the situation turning physical.

The events happened on March 3, early morning. I remember because I had gone to the movies with a friend — the premiere of Creed — at Parque Delta. There were plenty of people there. She pulled me out of the theater violently and took me back to her apartment.

Cuatrero also revealed that learning about his fate was the most difficult realization.

The hardest part? When I realized I would be staying for a while.
