Spoiler Alert: Major WWE Star Makes Surprise Appearance At AAA

A major WWE star made a surprise return to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide during their TV tapings on May 3, 2026.

AAA has been on a strong upward trajectory since WWE acquired it last April. The partnership has produced genuine crossover moments, but none landed quite like what happened at Rey de Reyes on March 14 in Puebla, Mexico.

Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer issued an open challenge to any woman on the RAW or SmackDown roster, demanding a match to prove herself the best women’s champion in all of WWE. The mystery opponent was revealed to be Bayley, who walked out to a massive reaction from the crowd inside Auditorio GNP Seguros, making her first-ever appearance for the promotion.

While The Role Model pushed the champion to her limits, her ambitions were thwarted by interference from Las Tóxicas. The group’s actions cost the WWE Grand Slam Champion the title match, leaving fans eager for a rematch.

The May 3 tapings provided the opportunity for a confrontation, and Bayley returned to the arena to settle the score.

During the tapings for the May 9 episode, Bayley returned to AAA, and the picture became much clearer. After LA Catalina picked up her first win, The Role Model came out immediately afterward, and the situation escalated quickly. Rather than setting up a straight singles feud with Flammer, Bayley aligned with La Catalina and Lola Vice, forming a three-woman group aimed at Las Toxicas.

Lola Vice has been an established presence in AAA, currently reigning as one-half of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions alongside Mr. Iguana. The numbers are now even on both sides.

AAA Noche de Los Grandes is scheduled for May 30 in Monterrey, Mexico, and the sides are set heading into it. Bayley did not come back to AAA just to be there. She returned with a faction behind her and a title to chase.
