MJF believes that former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson will return to the ring in the future.

The American Dragon retired from full-time wrestling after losing the AEW World Title to Jon Moxley at AEW WrestleDream in October 2024. Since then, Danielson has only had one bout, which was an eight-second dark match against Max Caster after AEW Collision in June 2025.

Following his retirement from full-time competition, Danielson joined the AEW Dynamite broadcast team as a full-time color commentator, while also serving as a mentor to younger talent and as a member of the company’s disciplinary committee.

Bryan Danielson hasn’t fully retired from professional wrestling, and the reigning AEW World Champion MJF believes he will wrestle again sometime in the future.

MJF Compares Bryan Danielson To NFL Legend Tom Brady, Calls Him A “GOAT”

While discussing his Iron Man match with Danielson on the Games with Names podcast, Maxwell Jacob Friedman called Bryan Danielson the GOAT and compared him to legendary NFL star Tom Brady.

The Wolf of Wrestling added that Bryan Danielson is likely to return to the ring because he is deeply passionate about wrestling and loves being in the ring.

“That’s like a Tom Brady-level. I would say he’s Tom Brady level. He’s definitely GOAT status. He’s like soft retired right now. I don’t know if he’ll ever come out of retirement. He’s a sicko so he probably will, because he can never get enough, much like Brady, and he’s definitely — if you talk to wrestling fans and you say, ‘Who’s one of the greatest wrestlers bell-to-bell, all-time, GOAT?’ They’ll say Dragon.”

The MJF vs. Bryan Danielson 60-Minute Iron Man match took place at AEW Revolution in San Francisco, California, in March 2023. The Salt of the Earth walked out of the match still AEW World Champion, in a bout that lasted around 65 minutes.
