The Smackdown Women’s Title will be on the line at WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3 when Liv Morgan defends her championship against Shayna Baszler.

There was a seven-woman Gauntlet Match on Smackdown with the winner earning a shot at Morgan’s Smackdown Women’s Title at Clash at the Castle.

The first match saw Sonya Deville defeat Aliyah. After that, it was the Raquel Rodriguez show as the tallest woman in the match dominated the competition. Rodriguez picked up victories over Sonya Deville, Shotzi, Xia Li and Natalya.

Shayna Baszler was the last woman in the Gauntlet Match. Rodriguez was dealing with a sore left knee after multiple women targeted it, so Baszler did as well and eventually, Baszler was able to hold Rodriguez down for a three count to win the match.

Baszler is a former two-time NXT Women’s Champion and two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, but she has yet to win the Raw or Smackdown Women’s Title in her career. Morgan was watching the match from ringside, which meant that after the match was over, the title contender had a staredown with the champion.

Even though Morgan didn’t wrestle on Smackdown, she had a tough night because there were some rowdy fans in Grenville, SC that were booing her during part of her promo. Some of them even chanted “you tapped out” at Morgan in reference to the ending of her SummerSlam match against Ronda Rousey.

Kayla Braxton was in the ring interviewing Morgan while Liv was booed and Braxton sent out this tweet about it.

Currently, the only match advertised for Clash at the Castle other than Morgan/Baszler is the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between the champion Roman Reigns and the challenger Drew McIntyre. Clash at the Castle is expected to have over 65,000 fans in attendance at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, September 3.
